This report shares the findings from a landscape study commissioned by The Wallace Foundation and conducted by EDC to advance knowledge of how school districts ensure and improve the quality of their summer learning initiatives. The authors provide insights from interviews with 92 professionals and policymakers from 36 states who work at the district, community, and state levels, as well as the results of a comprehensive literature review. The report also features implications for policy, practice, and future research.
